The
Orpington Marafun has been held successfully since 2005
with no accidents or incidents. Our aim is to ensure we
hold a successful and safe event again this year.
THE
EVENT ORGANISERS WILL PROVIDE:
* St
John’s ambulance and trained nurses (volunteers)
* Course
Marshals with high visibility jackets
* A
roving Marshal to patrol the course
* Refreshment
points at regular intervals around the course
* Course
briefing before the start pointing out particular
hazards
* An
emergency number to call to get help during the race
YOU
WILL NEED TO:
* Seek
medical advice on your fitness before you participate
* Arrange
insurance to meet your own personal and family
requirements
* Bring
a mobile phone with you to call for help in an emergency
*
Ensure you have appropriate footwear and clothing
* Abide
by the race rules and advice given in the briefing
It
is the responsibility of all entrants to ensure they
attend briefing meetings and are aware of the rules of
the event before participation.
Orpington Marafun is jointly organised by
Footsteps International and The Rotary Club of Bromley to raise funds for
good causes. The Marafun is a fun event. All participants enter this event
entirely at their own risk. Participants are advised to arrange insurance
to meet their own requirements. All distances are approximate. All data
and pictures captured either before and on the day of the event will
be stored and used for administration purposes and publicity for
future events.
